Other initial reports stated Israeli forces were simultaneously carrying out large-scale attacks on other nuclear sites across Iran.

The total number of those killed on Sunday night and the early hours has now reached eight, with 22 civilians having been killed since the start of the conflict.

To date, the Iranian missile salvos have focused on the Gush Dan/Tel Aviv/central Israel area, the Haifa area, and the Beersheba area.

Shortly after sirens sounded, the IDF said residents could leave their shelters. This is the second time Iranian missiles missed their targets in Israel's North.

The agency clarified that these alerts are fake and are sent in an effort to cause widespread panic. 

According to IDF assessments, Iran began the current conflict with approximately 2,000 ballistic missiles of varying ranges and warhead types.

Explosions were heard throughout Israel's center, with reports of some missiles making impact. The Petah Tikva municipality announced that a building in the city was hit by a missile.
